Scott Harrison

For my 100th episode, I’m inviting you to celebrate this milestone with me in a special way. Scott Harrison, founder and CEO of Charity: Water, is here to tell you that redemption is possible and together, we’re following his journey of second chances which now involves saving millions of people’s lives all around the world.

“…I wound up selling everything I owned, and deciding to kind of give one year of the 10 years I’d wasted in service to others…I was very fortunate that one organization said if I was willing to pay them $500 a month, and if I was willing to go live in the poorest country in the world, which at that time was post-war, Liberia, West Africa, then they would take me and I said, ‘Great, here’s my credit card number…’”

Join me, and Charity: Water, in our season of giving goal to build a well. I have committed to matching every donation (up to $2,500) in order to bring the gift of clean water to Charity: Water’s next project. You can share your gift at charitywater.org/bestlife.

Learn more about my campaign, Scott, and Charity: Water through Scott’s book Thirst: A Story of Redemption, Compassion and a Mission to Bring Clean Water to the World at charitywater.org/bestlife.

Jen Royle

Jen Royle is a former Emmy award-winning sports reporter-turned-chef and restaurateur, a former contestant on ABC’s “The Taste” and Food Network’s “Beat Bobby Flay.” Today she is having tremendous success running what’s been called one of the best Italian restaurants in Boston’s North End. But as much as she loves cooking, her memories of her first dream job as a sports reporter have helped to ground her.

“…I can think of many many amazing sports memories in New York, especially between the Red Sox and the Yankees where I honestly, in that very moment, I would stop and say, remember this moment, remember who you’re talking to, you remember where you are. ”

Mitzi Perdue

Mitzi Perdue is living one of the most fascinating lives. Besides being a hotel heiress, Mitzi has made a name for herself as a businesswoman, an award-winning author of 27 books, and a speaker. And in case her last name brings up any word association, her late husband, Frank Perdue, founded the Perdue Chicken company and her father co-founded the Sheraton Hotel chain.

“I’m so grateful because a lot of people in my economic background-filthy, stinking rich, in other words-I think, live in something of a bubble. I treasure that…my parents did everything that they could to have their kids not live in a bubble.”

Mitzi is also an anti-human trafficking advocate who recently returned from Ukraine. To support the war effort, Mitzi is auctioning off her historic Atocha Emerald engagement ring from her late husband at Sothebys on Decemeber 7, 2022, with all the proceeds going to Ukraine.

Learn more about the auction, Mitzi’s books, “I Didn’t Bargain For This”, “Tough Man, Tender Chicken: Business and Life Lessons From Frank Perdue” and other titles, at https://mitziperdue.com
