Cedric King

“Just take one step. Just one step. That’s all you need to do” says Retired Master Sergeant Cedric King. He’s used that philosophy to finish five Boston Marathons, two New York City Marathons, several half-Ironman triathlons, and many other challenges… all as a double amputee. King lost his legs in 2012 after stepping on an IED in Afghanistan. That could have been his breaking point, but, he says, he made the choice to make it his “making point.”

This decorated Army veteran’s courage, determination and resiliency will inspire you. His story will make you think long and hard about what you think you can and can’t do with your life.

Click this link to get your copy of King’s book, “The Making Point,” and learn how to turn your breaking point into your making point.

Marci Shimoff

Do you want to be happier? Who doesn’t!
This year has taken a toll on all of us, causing us to alter our habits and limit our social connections, but those changes don’t need to inhibit our personal happiness. Marci Shimoff, best-selling author and happiness expert, says that happiness doesn’t have to depend on your circumstances.

As a young adult, Marci thought that achieving her goals would bring her happiness, but when she discovered that, even with success, happiness wasn’t truly there, she took action – diving into happiness research. Marci says that “if we want to help make a difference in the world… we need to both raise our own happiness set-point and then also do it, whatever IT is, that we are called to do.”

Want to know how to find happiness? Listen in on this conversation with Marci, author of Happy for No Reason: 7 Steps to Being a Happy Person from the Inside Out.

Dr. Sheri Prentiss

Dr Sheri Prentiss followed her dreams to become a physician, but then, 16 years into her career, a breast cancer diagnosis threw that dream off course. While she beat cancer, one disease morphed into another, preventing her from returning to work as a doctor.

Faced with uncertainty, L-I-V-E became her new mantra. Sheri recreated herself and dedicated her life to service through her non profit, podcast, and more.

Her book is an honest chronicle of her diagnosis and journey – both the good and the bad. Sheri says: “…when you are real and authentic, and you express those weak moments, people can identify with your weakness because they’re weak in that moment too, and when they’re able to see you on the other side, you now become a testimony.”

You can find her book, When Everything Changed: My Journey from Physician to Patient, here. (https://amzn.to/3nn1y7k)
